Excited by the potential of the tiny press I realised I had to learn by making! This drypoint is the first I have made though, with a long career as a jeweller, I am familiar with working on a small scale. Recently I have been exploring new processes in order to maintain my creative output and 'shorelines' have featured in recent mixed media work. Transferring the image to a printing plate saw many experiments with tools from my jewellery making but ultimately simple scribers gave me the results I wanted. Early versions were made using recyced copper sheet and Tetrapack board but a food grade plastic sheet provided just the right surface for my first plate. Learning will continue as I am committed to developing my printmaking dialect and there is so much to explore.
