I have been very fortunate to have been able to visit South Africa and see amazing wildlife up close in the Sabi Sands area several different times. While the size, intelligence, and social structure of African elephants are impressive, I have find their eyes to be captivating--and the subject of this linocut print. Of all things 'elephant' (trunk, tail, ears, etc.)--the eyes are proportionally very small--and so a fitting subject for a tiny print!
