Balancing Matrescence is a print inspired by the physical, emotional and mental transition into becoming a mother artist and how this has deepened my understanding and desire to work creatively and compassionately with the world around us.
Printed using the carbonised seaweed that these two ceramic vessels were fired in. These vessels will eventually hold the same pigment that once helped to fire and create this very print. Closing the loop on the creative cycle of mother:child, mother:artist
