I enjoy combining bookbinding with printmaking using different techniques for creating the covers of handmade notebooks. The idea for my submission with title ‘Embracing’ comes from the tree bougainvillea and the way its trunk and branches fold around doors and windows creating beautiful shadows and leafy doorsteps with vibrant colours. Pictures like these are familiar in my country and have also been the inspiration for the name of my work studio ‘bookamvilia’.
