Just a few blocks from my house in Sydney lies the Georges River, home to the iconic platypus. I've never seen one of our local platypus but my daughter has so I live in hope that I will one day. The title "Hope" also refers to the hope the local platypus brings that our unique Australian wildlife will continue to adapt and survive our changing landscape.
