Kalli, short for Kallikrateia is the place in Greece where I spent all of my childhood summers. Lots of memories from this place with family getting together during festive seasons and summer holidays. The olive branch (Caligo Carbon Black) symbolises the multiple olive trees in our garden which provided olives and oil for my family. A very typical symbol of Greece overall. The sun on the background layer (Caligo Yellow Ochre) symbolises the Greek sun and the carefree summers. Together they form what I think to be the epitome of Greek summer. Printed with 2 different linocut blocks, I first printed the yellow layer and then continued with the black layer on top on my 3D printed press.
