Dawn on a chilly autumn morning at Papatowai in the far south of New Zealand. Numb fingers working through gloves to fiddle with camera settings and capture a long exposure of the incoming tide rushing through a reef of rocks. A few years later the image is transformed into vectors with DrawingBot, inkjet printed directly onto a photopolymer plate, cooked under UV light and washed in water (with warmer fingers). Then the dance of ink, paper and pressure.
