Keren Arroyo-Mora is a Puerto Rican artist and art therapist. Keren harnesses the power of art to address societal injustice and human resilience. Often inspired by the overlooked, she turns her gaze towards pigeons, symbols of resilience in the face of neglect and oppression.
In her 2018 exhibition, Keren used these avian figures to denounce the government's mishandling of Hurricane Maria's devastating impact on Puerto Rico. Now, as an art therapist, she returns to her artistic roots to honor her clients' journeys of healing and strength. These prints emerge from her therapeutic process, reflecting the challenges, struggles, and unwavering spirit of her clients. Beneath the surface of these animal portraits lies a deeper narrative, one of human resilience, love, and the indomitable will to overcome adversity.
