Etchings, aquatint, relief etchings, and printmaking were my main focus for years while studying (art education and art history). Samaras (botanical term) are the winged seeds of trees like acorns. I love the idea of a winged potential tree; samaras fascinate me since childhood. Here, and with my still very new printed printing press, I've revisited my artistic roots. It was overdue, I missed making plates, printing, and my surreal side dearly. I've got several art souls, though, and interchange between playful mixed media works, empathic watercolour portraits, intricate ink drawings, and colourful acrylic paintings. Finally, I'm printing again and listening to what the slow printing process teaches me, and feel whole. Printing complements my empathic and intricate mind perfectly.
