Inspiration came from my detailed drawings of seaweed on the beach in Wales which developed into little creatures. Many of these beings had a bird like appearance and a comical air that made me smile whilst I drew them. On location with my Open Press, I developed designs onto pvc plates using dry point. Back in the studio I explored different ways if inking up the plate, combining intaglio with mono printing techniques. This way of working appeals to me and I’ll continue to explore it with my little Open Press.
