Growing up in Alaska meant adventuring galore; hiking across mountains, skiing in sub-zero temperatures, and camping in some of the most gorgeous places on earth. As an avid explorer, I am passionate about addressing and documenting current impacts on the landscapes around us.
This piece is inspired by current threats to accessible public lands within the United States, illustrating the land being consumed. Many communities in Alaska rely on the tourism industry, and each summer rely on forestry and other employees to fight wildfires. These have been increasing in frequency and severity, often occurring dangerously close to our communities.
