I am an artist living and working in London, the core of my practice now is photographic though my background is in illustration and printmaking. I respond to work briefs in a variety of media depending on how I feel and what is required for the brief. My work is centred on the landscape, working in a site responsive way. Slow processes and alternative photography are most often used, whilst making these works I will document by drawing and making prints onsite, these are then printed up when back at my studio/darkroom. The work is based on the River Thames, London - walks along the shoreline and a subtle suggestion of the buildings which edge the embankment. I wanted to create atmosphere with the light. The drypoint is made on a tetra pak, I usually carry a few small sheets with me tucked inside a sketchbook and sometimes I draw directly onto the plate instead of working on a drawing first, I think this brings more spontaneity to the piece.
